Call Of The West
My 2026 solo exhibition is a collection of abstract works inspired by Clew Bay. A place that has come to represent home, energy, connection, and endless inspiration.
2026 Solo Exhibition
This body of work explores the heart and soul of the bay, the nature, the people, and the atmosphere that make it so special. I never expected to feel such magic from a place, even on the dullest days. The glass-like reflections on the water can make the islands appear as though they are floating, creating moments of stillness and wonder that continue to influence my work.
Throughout the collection, I’ve introduced pops of colour, little sparks of intrigue and individuality, that have become such an important part of my artistic language.
Over the past year, I’ve dedicated myself to painting, experimenting, and evolving my techniques. I spent time photographing the islands across different seasons and weather conditions, studying their textures, movement, changing light, and finding ways to translate those experiences into abstract form.
2026 also sees my work presented in hand-made frames, something that brought many learning curves but has made the process even more personal and rewarding. I’m incredibly grateful to be at this point in my life, creating, growing, and living as an artist in the west of Ireland.
To be able to bring that energy back to the community means everything to me, and hosting another solo exhibition at the Clew Bay Hotel is a huge honour.
I look forward to meeting everyone who can attend, and I deeply appreciate every person who has supported me on the journey leading up to this exhibition.
With love,
Jenny
