Daisies are bobbing, dotted across the fields, waving to us as we pass by, while broad strokes of loosestrife stain the hillsides with pinkish-purple clouds.
All of this gives back to our pollinators, who in recent years have seen a welcome recovery thanks to government initiatives. If you’d like to assist, consider joining the “No Mow May” movement next spring and pop the pesticides in the bin. The bugs are coming back, and we need them.
Visually, this piece is a reminder that we often take these moments for granted. We don’t always stop to appreciate the flashes of colour seen from a car window. It’s a gentle nudge to slow down, take your lunch outside, leave early, or go for a walk on a sunny morning. Enjoy what the world is giving us for free and give back to it where you can.
