“Robin” is a hand-printed linocut card celebrating one of Ireland’s most familiar and cherished garden birds, its feathered detail captured through carefully carved lines. In Irish folklore, the robin was regarded as a bird to be treated kindly, with old stories warning that harming one would bring bad luck. Today, it remains widespread, with BirdWatch Ireland estimating over two million breeding pairs across the Republic of Ireland. Although common, robins are protected under the Wildlife Act, along with their nests and eggs, protection that helps safeguard their breeding and ensures these much-loved birds remain part of our everyday lives. Each card is printed by hand, giving every impression its own subtle character.

Hand-Printed Linocut Greeting Card
This original linocut greeting card has been drawn, carved and hand printed by me, inspired by the familiar landscapes, nature and places of the west of Ireland.
Each card is individually printed by hand, meaning there may be small variations in the ink, texture and impression. These little differences are part of the traditional linocut process and make every card unique.
The design is printed in black ink onto a quality card and is blank inside, leaving plenty of room for your own message. It comes with a matching envelope and is suitable for birthdays, thank you’s, celebrations or simply sending a little piece of the west to someone.
As each card is handmade, the finished print may vary slightly from the photograph shown. Colours may also appear a little different depending on your screen.
